SHELF DIVING..

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Holy HOT smokes, Batman! Have you all checked out this months issue of DIVA Magazine? If not, you better jump on that shit quick before I buy the damn magazine company out! Jennifer Beals is back in action (Not the type of action I would like to see, but it will do..)! She is simply to die for.. and if I don't die looking at her, can you imagine this Wicked Witch seeing her in person? "I'm melting.."!

Here's a little taste of the article...

"The actress behind Bette Porter, The L Word’s alpha female, talks to her friend Rachel Shelley about her new book, L Word nostalgia and her need for privacy."

"It was on the red carpet for the second season L Word premiere that I fi rst realised how exceptional Jennifer Beals is. She was midinterview with E! Channel or some such, and had just expressed her very real grief at the death of actor Ozzie Davis who played her father in the series. Barely acknowledging her words or giving her space to draw breath, the interviewer was straight in with his next question – what was she wearing tonight? Jennifer paused. Amidst the madness of flashbulbs and cacophonic name-calling that is a crazed red carpet experience, she had the wherewithal to fix the guy with a hard stare. Struggling to be heard over the hubbub, she chided him concisely: did he not hear what she had just said? How could he plunge into inanities when she had been marking the life of a great and esteemed man?

I was blown away. Those red carpet interviews represent life at its most vapid, yet it didn’t deter Jennifer from her true nature. The easier response may have been just to name the designer. To give good interview and pass it off as a Hollywood moment. But Jennifer’s not prepared to reduce her life or emotions to a series of easy sound-bites for media satisfaction. Everything she is or does is without compromise, and with total commitment to the truth.

So I have to admit, I was a little trepidatious about interviewing Ms Beals. As much as I’ve come to love you, dear DIVA reader, I’m not about to ruin a valued relationship by (asking the wrong question and) blurring the lines between journalist and personal friend. There have been, of course, many conversations and experiences she and I have shared over the years that would be unsuitable for a magazine article, whether she was famous or not. Most are obvious, others are wonderfully weird, like the names of her pets. She is, by her own admission, a very private person."

Olives Holiday Gift Guide

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

So, this years Holiday Season is off to a great start! My shopping is well on its way to being completely finished. Just a few more small things and I will be a wrapping fool! I figured I would share some of my favorite gifts; some I have bought for others and some I would love to receive, or possibly buy for myself with my miniature Christmas bonus!!

These first items are simply fabulous for those ROCK stars in your life! Jeff Davis creates a "green" theme with re-used vinyls from some of your favorite bands of the 70's! Included are: vinyl bowls, party trays, earrings and necklaces, wrist cuffs, clocks, mirrors and coasters foryour cold holiday drink to rest on!

You can find most of these items at UNCOMMONGOODS.COM!

Everyones FAVORITE gift this season will be "The L Word" Season 5 or 6.. for those fools who haven't yet purchased the last two series of the most awesomely missed show ever!

These are available at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com or any movie store near you!

My all time most WANTED and probably going to get for myself after Christmas is Barnes & Noble's first eReader the NOOK! With its easy to read E Ink, it reads more as a book than a computer screen making it easier on the eyes! It has a 2GB memory with option to use a memory card for extra storage. 3G+WiFi makes it easy to access over 1,500 books, newspapers and magazines. An easy fully colored touch screen resides on the bottom making it easy to scroll through your very own library of your favorite picks!

Available at Barnes & Noble.. They are SOLD OUT! But a certificate is available for the holidays and your item will ship first thing next year!

Coffee, cigarettes and candles sound like a great Sunday morning to me! These little stocking stuffer's are genius for those INK-aholics close to you!

Ed Hardy introduces stuff for the everyday soul! Instead of thinking that you can't wear your inked shirt to work, you can still ink it at the office or on your much needed nicotine break! And the candles, they smell delic!!

Amazon.com for these suckers!

And Last but not least.. the new ZUNE HD! Just because it looks so dang sweet and I'm way over the iPod! The Zune has a great design; rather slick and clean. Professional looking; a real eye catcher! The colors are fantastic to look at and it has a rather smooth touch screen for your scrolling pleasure! Powered by NVIDIA.

GO CRAZY! GO WILD BUT, WATCH YOUR WALLETS!!
Mine seems to missing quite a bit of CASH!!

First off Dylan and Helena make a sexy ass couple, whew... I would love to be the peanut butter between that sandwich!! Second off, (screaming) "I MISS THIS SHOW!" I think I speak for the greater half of the worlds population!! Look at the sex appeal these fine ladies and men had to offer! All I ask for is a movie, Ilene. Sex and the City has a movie... oh wait they have about 5 movies, not to mention Miley Cyrus has a movie? HELLO... I think "OUR" Gay ass's deserve a movie and so much more! And by "Gay" I mean "Happy", because honestly we were are all a little less depressed when we had Bette and Tina turning us on every Sunday evening! That's what I'm talking about!! So Ilene... "FORGET YOUR FARM AND MAKE A MOVIE!!!!!!!"

Kelly McGillis is out of the closet and ready to move with life... the lesbian rumors can be put to rest after an exiting positive outcome!

'Charlie' Blackwood blew our minds and made every lesbian want more by playing the sexy love interest of Tom Cruise in the hit '80's film "Top Gun"!

McGillis recently co-starred in "The L Word" as Colonel Gillian Davis, the hard-assed closeted Military attorney prosecutor for Tasha's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" case. And that story line seemed to stay true with the closeted scenario.

So after being divorced twice, and figuring out that this world is drastically changing and your own personal life, goals, and mind need to be out in the open right now more than ever before for the sake of our freedom, comfort, and credibility; McGillis has decided to openly come out and state that she is single, and her next relationship will definitely be with a woman.

I'm sure all of you gals out there will be in extensive stalking mode until she is accounted for! Good god, the joys of being a lesbian... so humorous and enjoyable! The little things excite us, isn't that what makes this world a better place? Simple joys!

Thank you Kelly, we can all sleep in peace now!

HELLO MY CHOSEN ONE! HA-HA-HA... OH YOU ARE SO TENDER AND KIND! IF ONLY I LOOK AS GORGEOUS AS SHE DOES AT 44, WHAT AN AMAZING WOMAN... MMMHMMM!

ILENE CHAIKEN... WHO DIDN'T LET THE GIRLS GET A WORD IN AFTER WINNING A RECOGNITION AWARD FOR HER CREATION THAT THEY WORKED SO HARD IN PORTRAYING. I THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS OUT OF LINE A FEW TIMES WHEN SHE WAS SPEAKING, TALKING ABOUT HOW SHE WANTED HER CHARACTERS TO BE A LITTLE MORE PRETTIER, SKINNIER, MORE FASHIONABLE BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE WATCH. OH ILENE, I STILL LOVE YOU JUST FOR CASTING JENNIFER BEALS AS YOUR MAIN CHARACTER... NO, BUT HONESTLY THERE WAS MORE SPOKEN THAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN! BUT, SHE STILL LOOKED LOVELY AND I'M SURE SHE WAS A TID-BIT NERVOUS!

LEAVE IT UP TO THE TALL ONE TO CRADLE THE AWARD!! SMOKING, SMOKIN, SMOKIN! ALL FOUR OF THEM (KATE MOENNIG, LEISHA HAILEY, JENNIFER BEALS, ILENE CHAIKEN) LOOK ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS SPORTING THEIR WHITE KNOTS FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY; BEAUTIFUL!

AND LOOK, JANE LYNCH SHOWED UP FOR "L WORD" SUPPORT LOOKING SUPER SPIFFY!
THANK YOU GLAAD FOR THE IMAGES ABOVE!

Laurel Holloman sweeps away with the Bravo A List award for Sexiest T.V. Moment. Guess which moment that was? You are right! Bette and Tina in the Elevator, steamy and in love from season 5 of The L Word!

First she starts off with "this looks like a prop from our show"! Funny lady, right?!

Then she proceeds to make it known that she "SAT ON JENNIFER'S FACE"!! HOLY SHIT GIRL, my exact reaction... and the audiences at that! I'm wondering if she just said that to make every lesbian, straight, gay, purple, blue, whoever or whatever you are radically JEALOUS that she got the once in a lifetime opportunity to sit on Jennifer Beals face in an elevator?!!! Come on Laurel, spare us here just a bit! It's bad enough we had to watch you and her making sweet love, and sometimes dirty and rough sex... but you had to add the face sitting to it! Sitting on her face makes is 10X better for the fantasy's to start turning! Haa..Haa..!

But that wasn't her reasoning's for spilling that tid-bit of info... She simply was saying that, if she can sit on a girls face and win an award for it, then she doesn't understand the whole Proposition 8 deal! I simply love this woman, I truly do!

She gave a pretty good speech if you ask me! There is more humor and shock, but you will have to watch for yourself!
